About & Methodology
PrepHeat is an independent high school baseball publication built for the NIL era — where players, parents and coaches want clear, honest information. The Heat Index is an independent composite of publicly available information — published national rankings, showcase and tournament results, measurable data, college commitments and public scouting coverage.
“Chase the Bag” means chasing the opportunity — a college roster spot, a scholarship, a draft shot — earned on the field. PrepHeat never charges for rankings, and nobody can pay to move up the Heat Index. All players covered are high school students; we keep coverage about baseball and treat every athlete with respect.
Not affiliated with Perfect Game, Prep Baseball (Prep Baseball Report), Baseball America, MLB, USA Baseball, or any other scouting service. All trademarks belong to their owners.
